Costa Rica is a beautiful tropical country located close to the equator. It has many microclimates and the rainfall threshold varies between the regions of the country.

The various climate zones often contrast with each other, when it's the raining in the Pacific Coast during September and October, its dry on the Caribbean Coast for the same period. Due to the rugged mountain terrains, different weather conditions and temperature will exist across the country.

There are two distinct seasons in Costa Rica, the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season is from December to April, and the rainy season is from May to November. Tourism is increasing during the rainy season due to lower rates and travel is not usually compromised unless traveling on secondary roads. Most visitors don't mind a little rain and they can get to enjoy and witness the lush vegetation, blooming orchids and other plant species that complement the rainforest.
