For the budget conscious travelers and an economical alternate for ground transfers within Costa Rica, Fantasy Bus and Interbus are two companies that offer daily shuttles to over 50 established routes throughout the country.  They are reliable and usually on time and they use air-conditioned vehicles. The only negative is that they have standard pick up schedules and they stop at several hotels along the way.
