Manuel Antonio, Jaco, Quepos, Dominical

The Central Pacific Region is one of the best vacation destination areas in Costa Rica . Depending on the desired travel area, the travel time will range from 1 ½ to 3 hours from San Jose . This region offers beaches that are excellent and is not too far from San Jose . The diverse mixture of attractions has made this region a very popular place. Quepos is a small quaint village that offers adventure and classy amenities. It's natural relaxing village lifestyle and surrounding beauty of Manuel Antonio National Park makes it a very desirable place to frequently visit. Many of the visitors come from cruise ships anchored at Puerto Caldera , a short distance from Quepos. If you want to avoid the 3 hours drive, you can fly on a domestic flight and arrive in Quepos in 25 minutes. One and a half hours drive from Quepos is Jaco and Herradura bay. This area is 1½ hours short drive from San Jose . Jaco is famous for its beaches, surfing and nightlife. Because of this, it attracts a lot of the younger population. At Herradura Bay , is the first class Marriott Los Sueños Ocean and Golf Resort. It also has a marina and offers amenities that are offered by four-star hotels.

Weather:

In the Central Pacific Region, which includes Manuel Antonio Quepos, Jaco and Dominical, receives its fair share of rain during the rainy season. It is normally very warm and humid. For live weather info, see our weather page.

Travel time:

Travelling to the Central Pacific region will be 3 1/2 hours by car. If you want to fly, there are several daily scheduled domestic flights that arrives 25 minutes later to the Quepos airstrip, then a quick 10-15 minutes ride to your hotel destination in the Manuel Antonio area.
